This pou whenua piece represents the pūrākau of Kahutia-Te-Rangi and his tohorā, Paikea. This is an ode to our whakapapa and one of many origin stories of the East Coast. The lightning and dark nature of the piece visually represents Te Pō and the perceived mythical nature of our pūrākau.
